This brokerage company had determined a new data center was needed to satisfy increased customer demand. A decision was made to shift customer web inquiries to a sysplex residing in the new data center. All customer applications would need to be replicated and synchronized with the production systems.
Our project responsibility was the Securities Master database. As an integral element in an enterprise-wide Project Management Office, we needed to coordinate tasks with other groups having interdependencies. The critical drivers for this project were interdepartmental coordination and an inflexible deadline.
The problem of replication and reconciliation was universal across all departments. A common strategy was jointly developed and adopted by all project managers for their specific areas of responsibility. All project elements were required to meet very specific milestones to avoid delays in unit and integrated testing.
ORCA achieved success in migration, replication and reconciliation to the complete satisfaction of the Project Management Office.
